Royal Johannesburg and Kensington golf club is one of the most prestigious clubs in South Africa and boasts two 18-hole championship courses - the East Course and the West Course. Both have scenic, tree-lined fairways and gently rolling slopes. The better-known East Course has hosted numerous tournaments, including the SA Open on seven occasions. The course was designed by the then club professional Robert Grimsdell in 1935, who pioneered early South African Golf course designs.

Glendower was declared a natural conservation in 1973 to protect the abundance of bird life and lush vegetation on the course.

Houghton Golf Club boasts one of the best courses in the Johannesburg area. The course is home to several tournaments, including the Alfred Dunhill Championship - a championship between Southern Africa and Australasia that is the Southern Hemisphere’s answer to the Ryder cup. Houghton has also hosted the South Africa Open eight times. This course has gone through some very innovative changes over the past ten years and has been substantially improved and modernized.

Gerard says - “Mark and I thoroughly enjoyed playing this course, especially witnessing the game wildlife openly roaming around the golf course. This was especially evident when we found a Zebra between ourselves and the flag on the first hole.”
